Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains what information Puzzlyland collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Puzzlyland is run by Khaled Alkhaldi, who is responsible for your information (the "controller"). Contact: [email protected].
In short: we keep what we need to run your account, your game progress and your purchases. We don't sell your personal information. Free players see ads from Google, which may use cookies (see section 5).
1. What we collect
If you make an account
- Account details: your email address and your password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form by our login provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Game data: your level in each game, how many levels you finished each day, 🧩 Pieces and their history, streaks, items you own or equip, hints used, and your display name.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, its price and status, and the order or subscription numbers. We do not receive or store your card details: payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (section 3).
For everyone, including guests
- Stored in your browser (not sent to us): guest progress, half-finished puzzles, and settings such as light/dark mode and sound. See section 6.
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, which are kept in short-lived server logs for security and fixing problems.
- Messages you send us, such as support emails.
2. Why we use it (and the legal basis)
- To run the Service you asked for: your account, saving progress, daily limits, rewards, and delivering what you bought. Basis: our contract with you.
- To send emails you need: confirming your address, resetting your password, receipts (sent by Lemon Squeezy). Basis: contract.
- To keep the Service safe and fair (preventing cheating, fraud and abuse) and to fix bugs. Basis: our legitimate interests.
- To show ads to free players. Basis: legitimate interests; and where the law requires it (such as in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), your consent for personalised ads and cookies.
- To keep records the law requires, such as for tax. Basis: legal obligation.
We don't send marketing emails. If we ever want to, we will ask first.
3. Who we share it with
Only with the services that run Puzzlyland for us, each limited to what it needs:
- Supabase: our database and login provider; stores your account and game data.
- Lemon Squeezy: our reseller and payment processor (merchant of record). It collects your payment and billing details directly, under its own privacy policy, and tells us what you bought.
- Google: for "Continue with Google" sign-in (if you use it), and for advertising (section 5).
- Our hosting and email providers: they run the website and send account emails (such as confirmation and password reset) on our behalf.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of selling or transferring the Service (the new owner would have to respect this policy). We never sell your personal information.
4. Where it is stored
Our providers may store and process information in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, they protect transfers with recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
5. Advertising
Players who haven't bought Remove Ads or VIP see ads. Ads are provided by Google (Google AdSense and Google's games ads):
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, or turn off other vendors' personalised ads at www.aboutads.info. You will still see ads, but they won't be based on your interests.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link on the site.
6. Cookies and browser storage
- Necessary: sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and browser storage for your settings, guest progress and half-finished puzzles. These are needed for the site to work and don't track you across other sites.
- Advertising: cookies set by Google and its partners for free players, as described in section 5.
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time (this signs you out and clears guest progress).
7. How long we keep it
- Account and game data: while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete it within 30 days.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually several years), even after the account is deleted.
- Server logs: a short time, typically a few weeks.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or privacy laws in US states), you can ask us to: see the information we have about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, limit or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent you gave. Email [email protected] from your account's email address; we reply within 30 days. To delete your account, email us and we will delete your account and game data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Puzzlyland is a general-audience game site and is not directed at children under 13. You must be 13 or older (or the minimum age in your country) to make an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has made an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database rules so that each player can only reach their own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
11. Changes
We will update this policy when what we do changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you on the site or by email.
